I left my job to learn weaving and fiber arts in New Mexico back in 1984. Actually it wasn't my idea, but the advice of a teacher from the East. He had to tell me several times because I just couldn't see myself as a creative type, much less making a living from it. But after taking the plunge, I found that I (like every human being whether they act on it or not) has an inner artist. And after I made enough pieces to show, people began to admire and buy my work. I soon became a full time, professional craft artist, doing shows and selling to shops. Eventually, I owned my own gallery near Santa Fe, NM.
